Packing for Everest Base Camp
There’s a weight limit of 15 kg. (33 lbs.) per passenger on the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. So I really had to pack light. Also to give consideration to the porter who will be carrying our duffel bags all throughout the trek. That 15 kg. is weighing in everything including both your duffel bag and daypack, and its contents from your clothes, gear, cameras, snacks, toiletries, and sleeping bag.
Walang liguan and artihan talaga toh [No bathing and no room to be vain here]. I was prepared to wear the same thing days on end. I brought 1 set of clothes for traveling and Kathmandu, 2 sets of clothes for trekking, and 1 set for sleeping. We went on the first week of April so it wasn’t as cold anymore. The only time it would be really cold was in the evening and early morning. So it wasn't necessary to bring overly thick clothes.
Before leaving for Lukla, we had Mountain Sherpa Trekking check our clothes and gear if they were good enough. It was so accomodating of them to lend us down jackets, sleeping bags, trekking poles, and steel water bottle at no extra cost.
